I’m thrilled to say that I will be a speaker at DataCon 2025 in Seattle, June 23-27, 2025. The conference will feature exports in Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and more.
I have several sessions at the conference. This includes a precon on Monday, June 23rd, 2025, titled “Database Administration for the Non Database Administrator“. In this session I will cover a large number of topics so that you can keep your Microsoft SQL Server servers (both on-prem or in Azure), Azure SQL DB Managed Instances, Azure SQL DB databases happy, healthy and performing their best. I’ll be covering other topics such as backups, upgrade paths, indexing, database maintenance, database corruption, patching, virtualization, disk configurations, high availability, database security, database mail, anti-viruses, scheduled jobs, and much, much more.
On Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, I will be presenting “Azure 101,” which will cover the basics of Microsoft Azure, from where to get started to many of the resources available within Microsoft Azure. This will be a great session for anyone looking to get started in Microsoft Azure, and given that Azure is massively vast in options, it is understandable if you get lost looking at the possibilities.
On Thursday, June 26th, 2025, I will present “Choosing the Right Data Store – An Overview of Azure Data Platform Choices“. In this session, Denny will review all the data platform options that are available in Azure, as well as discussing which data platform type is best for which workload.
On Friday, June 27, 2025, I will present the session “Securing Azure PaaS Network Communications” where we will talk about the best way to ensure that your network traffic to your PaaS resources isn’t going across the public internet.
I’m told that the conference will have a community area of some sort, and that’s probably where you’ll find me when I’m not presenting my sessions. So please be sure to come by and say high, and bring your SQL Server / Azure SQL DB questions.
Register for the conference by April 11th, 2025, to receive the best pricing available via the conference’s early bird pricing. See you at DataCon 2025.
Denny
